Friday-January 7, 2011

I woke up at 6:00am and off to have breakfast with the rest of the group at 7:00am. The food was great. Our motor coach picked us up and drove around New Delhi. Our local guide spoke up certain shops, landmarks, and other locations that we passed. After a brief tour of New and Old Delhi, we headed towards Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Professor Kumar teaches sociology and has completed research in socialized systems. He presented a lecture on India's 4,000 year civilization. He spoke about how India has evolved through languages, religions, castes, food, etc. After the lecture, our group had the chance to ask questions as well as meet with students from the university. Then we took a tour of the campus.

Right after we left the university, we headed to a restaurant called Waves and had such an amazing time eating and talking within our group. Then, we were dropped off at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum and walked around with an audio tour. Something amazing happened right before we left the museum. We saw the Dalai Lama. We then drove back to our hotel to eat dinner, reflect, and discuss about how we felt about our visit so far. To end the day, we all attended the Red Fort's Light and Sound Show.
